Each year, Demix Agrégats organises school visits for local school children to its quarries in Laval, Mirabel and Varennes. The visits are meant to give an exclusive inside view of the quarry and help them see and understand the various stages of production. Read

The preservation of wild fauna and flora is one of the sustainable development objectives of Demix. This objective mandated a specialized firm to perform the transplantation of wild garlic and Bloodroot near the Mirabel quarry and track the results of the transplants over a period of three years to help preserve these endangered species. Proud to support Habitat for Humanity, a Holcim employee along with three customers participated in a special mission in Haiti this past November. They joined a volunteer group of the Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter Foundation to build 100 homes! Read

Each year since 2009, Demix Agrégats organizes a day under the theme: Health and Safety for its hourly employees in order to raise awareness for and prevent accidents. This year, the focus was on the health component. Read

The river remediation project in Cacouna started in 2008 in partnership with the Demix Beton employees at the Drummondville site and the organization GARAF (Groupe d’Aide à la Recherche et à l’Aménagement de la Faune). The main goal of the project is the reintroduction of trout into its natural environment. Read

Two Demix Agrégats employees, Nicolas Gagné and Frederick Belec participated in the 3^rd edition of the Great Pierre Lavoie Challenge from the 17^th to the 19^th of June cycling for 60 hours and covering 1000km. Read
