Professional exchange


The Holcim Forum is a series of international symposiums on the topic of sustainable construction conducted by the Foundation. The event is an academic platform for architects, engineers, construction professionals and specialists of all generations to exchange information on creating a sustainable built environment and thus advancing sustainable development. The Holcim Forum supports sustainable construction in the scientific field, among experts in the construction sector, business and society, and promotes interdisciplinary dialogue, bring forward new ideas, and examine potential solutions.


Past Forums


Mexico City 2010 - The third Holcim Forum was hosted by Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) in Mexico City and focused on the topic of "Re-inventing Construction".


Shanghai 2007 - Over 250 international experts from 41 countries met for the second Holcim Forum, " Urban_Trans_Formation", dedicated to the reshaping of cities.


Zurich 2004 - The first Holcim Forum was held on the subject of "Basic Needs". It investigated the rudiments of every modern society - housing, water, education, infrastructure, and access to goods and services.
