Holcim Canada Inc. unveiled today two Ready Mix Concrete Trucks with logos of 18 companies adorned on the drums of the trucks. As a result of this drum sponsorship program, Holcim Canada raised $100,000 for the second year in a row for Halton Hospitals.
The sponsoring companies will receive a “rolling recognition” for their donation throughout the communities of Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville for one year. The raised funds will help support priority medical equipment purchases for the three Halton Healthcare Services Hospitals; Oakville, Milton and Georgetown.
“We are extremely thankful for the continued support we receive from local businesses,” said Mike Bartlett, Managing Director for the Oakville Hospital Foundation (OHF). “Dufferin Aggregates is a perfect example of this support. They developed a program that provides recognition to their business partners while being able to donate $100,000 among the three Halton Healthcare Services Hospitals.”
A division of Holcim Canada, Dufferin Aggregates has always taken great pride in contributing back to the communities they operate in. Dufferin Aggregates commitment to local communities is clearly evident by their dedication to this particular cause of raising funds in difficult economic times.
“Government funding alone cannot sustain our hospitals,” said Allen Wightman, CEO of OHF. “The tremendous efforts of our local business partners and the community help bridge the gap to purchase the vital medical equipment that Oakville, Milton and Georgetown residents expect and deserve.”
“The Ready Mix Drum Sponsorship Program was a huge success in 2008 – 2009 and we wanted to make this into an annual event. Thanks to the support of our local business partners, we achieved that goal.” said Andrea Bourrie, Property & Resource Manager, Dufferin Aggregates. She further added that, “With the pace of growth in Halton, we are conscious of the ongoing need for funding and we want to contribute to building healthy vibrant communities.
Dufferin Aggregates raised the hundred thousand dollars by presenting local businesses with the opportunity to place their logos on the drums of two concrete ready mix trucks. 18 companies committed to the program which is a testament to their commitment to enhancing healthcare in the community. The new trucks with the sponsors logo will be based in Georgetown and Appleby locations.
